Information Regarding Social Security / Welfare Pension

As part of the social security schemes of the Government of Kerala, various welfare pensions are being granted to eligible persons. Procedures such as application submission, eligibility verification, field verification, and mustering are implemented through the concerned Local Self Government Institutions.

Current Pension Amount: ₹2,000 per month

Major Welfare Pensions

General Eligibility Conditions

• The annual family income must be within the prescribed limit.
• The applicant must submit the application to the Local Self Government Institution where he/she is a permanent resident.
• The applicant must not be an income tax payer.
• The conditions relating to service pension/family pension must be satisfied.
• It must be verified whether the applicant is receiving any other social security pension.
• The prescribed conditions relating to land, vehicle, and building ownership must be satisfied.
• The information furnished in the application must be correct.
• The required documents must be submitted.

Pension-wise Eligibility

1. Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension

• The applicant must be 60 years of age or above.
• The annual family income must be within the prescribed limit.
• The applicant must be destitute/dependent.
• The applicant must not be an income tax payer.
• Conditions relating to service pension/family pension are applicable.
• Conditions relating to land, vehicle, building, etc., must be satisfied.

2. Agricultural Workers' Pension

• The applicant must be 60 years of age or above.
• The applicant must be eligible as an agricultural worker.
• The applicant must have been a permanent resident of Kerala for the required period.
• The annual family income must be within the prescribed limit.
• The applicant must not be an income tax payer.

3. Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension

• Widows whose husbands have died may be eligible.
• Women whose husbands have been missing for more than 7 years may be eligible, subject to the prescribed conditions.
• Women above 50 years of age who have been deserted by their husbands for more than 7 years may be eligible, subject to the prescribed conditions.
• The applicant must not have remarried.
• Other prescribed eligibility conditions must be satisfied.

4. Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension

• The applicant must have an eligible disability.
• The required medical/disability certificate must be submitted.
• The annual family income must be within the prescribed limit.
• The applicant must not be an income tax payer.
• Other prescribed eligibility conditions must be satisfied.

5. Pension for Unmarried Women Above 50 Years of Age

• The applicant must be 50 years of age or above.
• The applicant must be unmarried.
• The annual family income must be within the prescribed limit.
• The applicant must not be an income tax payer.
• Conditions relating to service/family pension must be satisfied.

Application Procedure

Mustering

Mustering is an important procedure for confirming the survival/status and eligibility of pension beneficiaries.

• Follow the schedule prescribed by the Government / Sevana Pension Portal.
• Complete mustering within the stipulated period.
• Keep the required identification details/documents ready.

Circumstances That May Result in Loss of Pension Eligibility

• Exceeding the prescribed income limit.
• Providing incorrect information.
• Receiving pension from another Local Self Government Institution.
• Becoming an income tax payer.
• Receiving service/family pension.
• Owning land exceeding the prescribed limit.
• Owning a vehicle contrary to the prescribed conditions.
• Owning a building exceeding the prescribed limit.
• Failure to produce documents proving eligibility.
